Last week marked the conclusion of what is known in Kabbalah as the weeks of “Shovavim”. This is an acronym for the beginning letters of the Parshiyot; Shemot, Vaeira, Bo, Bishalach, Yitro, Mishpatim (and some years, like this one, we add Teruma and Tetzaveh.) This period of time is a special opportunity to better ourselves and enhance our closeness to Hashem with teshuva. Rabbi Ezra Dayan inspired the boys to conclude these sacred weeks with inspiration. Late at night, he gathered them together for words of chizuk and tefillot in the traditional ways of old. It was a powerful climax that, while ending late at night, served as truly awakening moments.
